Production Assistant – Spiritwood, ND

Job Summary:

The primary responsibilities of the Production Assistant position is to assist with the implementation of plant preventive maintenance programs, assists operators and maintenance with light maintenance, cleans the process buildings and process equipment. Production Assistants are required to train and fill vacancies in the Bean Receiving and Process Operation positions.  Production Assistants have the opportunity to progress to the Bean Receiver, Process Operator, Maintenance, or leadership positions.  The Production Assistant helps to maintain the Master Sanitation Schedule, may also be asked to support the facility via snow removal, mowing, or other grounds activities. This is a full-time manufacturing job at a soybean processing facility, located in the Spiritwood Energy Park. Located just 15 minutes East of Jamestown, North Dakota, and 25 minutes West of Valley City, North Dakota.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains processing and elevator area preventive maintenance program.
  • Cleans areas as assigned from the Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Assists in keeping the facility in tour ready condition.
  • Assists in emergency situations, IE: cleaning, bean, oil, and meal spills.
  • Assists operators and maintenance when needed.
  • May serve as back-up for Bean Receiving or Operators
  • May perform light maintenance duties on departmental equipment.
  • Operates a forklift and skid loader.
  • Runs trash pump to remove water from areas around the processing plant.
  • Gathers supplies from warehouse.
  • Assists in grind mill screen changes.
  • Dumps process waste hoppers in designated areas.
  • Additionally, may perform reasonably similar or related duties as required.
  • Support and engage in Performance Excellence activities in the facility.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must Successfully complete all GBSP, LLC Safety Certification requirements
  • Experience/familiarity with computers/electronics
  • Ability to work well with others and with little supervision

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Good organizational and communication skills, and must be self-motivated
  • Willingness to assume and learn new responsibilities
  • Housekeeping and sanitation skills (MSS)
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary
  • Attention to detail and accurate record keeping skills
